McKinley at a Crossroads

Hope everyone had a fun filled Fourth…

As you can see from the pictures from the Fourth…it was a rockin’ time in the Saloon…stop in the Saloon for more pictures…unfortunately…the babe from the South Des Moines Chamber of Commerce didn’t stop by…maybe next time…

As for what we are hearing in the Saloon…it’s just a helluva lot of grumbling right now about Paul McKinley. McKinley is flirting with running for governor…although most people have been unimpressed with what he has shown so far…

And the most unimpressed are his Senate Republican colleagues who spent some time in the Saloon this weekend grumbling about McKinley toying around with this governor idea and neglecting Senate recruitment and fundraising…

There are a whole slew of seats that are up in 2010 that Republicans should have an opportunity to win…but so far there are no committed candidates in the seats that used to be held by Republicans with the names of Iverson, Brunkhorst and Miller…those seats are the ones that Republicans have no excuse for not picking up and putting back in their column…

Apparently McKinley is not raising money for the senate or his own governor campaign now…which is making his colleagues and a few lobbyists that frequent the Saloon wonder what the hell he is doing…

McKinley is at a crossroads…time to come into the Saloon for a drink, Senator…you are damn close to embarassing yourself and dooming Senate Republicans chances at picking up seats this fall…

If your own colleagues are getting frustrated…that means you are not far away from losing your leadership slot and having your governors campaign crash before it even gets off the ground…

There is no McKinley for Governor campaign…stop the damn madness and do what your colleagues elected you to do…lead your caucus and go pick up some damn seats…
