Thought it would be a good time for a recap on what is actually happening on the campaign trail... It keeps things hopping here in the Saloon.. And when the candidates are not here.. Everybody is talking about what they have heard on the trail... So..here is a dose of it for the rest of ya'll.. The caveat to all of this..(sorry for the  fancy talk..) THIS IS ALL TRUE The statements and thoughts offered by these candidates are true...and well...the commentary...that's my take... 1.   Perhaps this is the last nail in the coffin of the days of old... The days that absentee ballots don't matter... Republicans won... Again... And lost when absentee ballots were counted... We're talking about the race in House District 90... It's all anyone is talking about in the Saloon tonight... The stars looked like they were aligned for us... Tons of volunteers... A national C4 group drops $100k on the race... Obama plummeting....Culver dropping... And Republicans come up 100 votes short.... Oh.... And Democrats started election day with a 1,000 vote lead or so on absentees... Kevin McCarthy was overheard... “Since Iowans for Tax Relief have said this is the bellwether election to determine control of the House for next year, I just want to say, ‘I agree,’” said House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy. “I take them at their word so I’m assuming they will concede next year’s House elections based on the performance of this ...
